ELKHART — Ardys Darlene Herring "Ardy," 84, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Hospice House Elkhart on June 4, 2017.

She was born Jan. 25, 1933, to the late Monroe and Evelyn Parker of Goshen.

She loved playing cards with her longtime companion Joe Stutzman.

Ardy was the happiest with a home full of people where she cooked and entertained.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose; a lifetime member of the Elkhart DAV No. 19 Women's Auxiliary.

She worked for 10 years at Duracool in quality control, and was also a kitchen staff member at Bent Oak and later was a employed by Wilts at Bacon Hill and a demo gal at Martin's Supermarket until retiring.

Surviving are Allen (Pam) Knight,  Angie Nielsen of Elkhart, James (Helen) Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida and Terrie (Troy) Forrest, of Goshen.

Celebration of life will be at the DAV Post 19 from 10- 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24.

Arrangements are being handled by Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart.
