Arden Earl Miller, 102, of Fort Myers, Florida, died April 25, 2023.
He was born December 3, 1920, in Midland, MI, to Ernest and Clara Alice (Emmert) Miller.
The family moved to Indiana in his early youth, and he lived in the Elkhart, Indiana area until his retirement in 1985. He married Mary Jean McFall on November 20, 1940. She died in January of 1997.
Mr. Miller spent most of his working career in the machinery industry. He retired in 1985 after 10 years as owner and president of Klem Supply, Inc. in Elkhart, Indiana, a distributor of industrial supplies, tools and machinery. He moved to Fort Myers, Florida that same year.
Mr. Miller was a veteran of World War II. He served two years in the European Theater of Operations with the 36th Infantry Division. The commendations awarded him included three battle stars and the Combat Infantryman's Medal.
He married D. Maxine Phillips Bowers on October 10, 1975. She died December 13, 2012. Mr. Miller is survived by his daughters, Peggy D. (Kenneth) Twa and Linda R. (Timothy) Carey both of Elkhart, Indiana. Three grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Three brothers, Donald D., Raymond L., and Harold D. Miller are deceased.
Mr. Miller was a member of Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers, Florida. He was a member of Tyrian Masonic Lodge of Elkhart, Scottish Rite, and the Junto Club of Elkhart.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service officiated by Pastor Jeremy Sarber to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Rice Cemetery on Thursday. A burial with Military Honors will be rendered at Prairie Street Cemetery on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be given to Hope Hospice, c/o Development Department 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908; The Salvation Army, 300 N.
