SOUTH BEND — Anton M. Showalter, 61, of South Bend, passed away at Valley View Healthcare Facility following an extended illness Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018.

He was born Sept. 4, 1956, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, to the late Walter Laskowski and Barbara (Harrison) Laskowski, who survives.

Among surviving children is a son, Anton M. (Nicole) Laskowski II of Elkhart; three brothers and one sister.

Grandchildren include Emilee and Anton (AJ) Laskowski III and Rylee, Bria and Branden.

Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in the Veteran's Section of Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

The U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and Elkhart DAV No. 19 will render military honors.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting with cremation arrangements.

Anton owned and operated several boat marinas throughout the U.S. until his health required his early retirement.
