ELKHART -- Anna Lillian "Ann" Craigo, 60, of Elkhart, died at 6:52 a.m. Saturday (May 9, 2009) at the Hospice House of Elkhart following a 14-year battle with cancer.

She was born Dec. 7, 1948, in Elkhart to George and Susan (Minichillo) Sailor.

She is survived by three sons, Jacob (Denita) Craigo, John Craigo and Andrew (Kailey Coleman) Craigo, all of Elkhart; six brothers, Leonard (Pam) Sailor of South Bend and Paul Sailor, Mike Sailor, Joseph Sailor, Stephen (Glenda) Sailor and Louis (Jeanne) Sailor, all of Elkhart; three sisters, Catherine Sailor, Marie (Ron) Walter and Therese (Barry) Heflick, all of Elkhart; her mother, Susan Sailor of Elkhart and her former husband and father of her three sons, Roger Lee Craigo of Concord, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Ms. Craigo was a 1966 graduate of Elkhart High School and earned her nursing degree at Southwestern Michigan College. She was a registered nurse in the Elkhart area for many years, working at Elkhart General Hospital and the Elkhart County Health Department. She was also a school nurse at Hawthorn Elementary School until her health required her to retire in 2006.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, assisted with prison ministries and served as a eucharistic minister. She enjoyed ministering and caring for the ill. She loved feeding and whistling to the birds in her backyard, reading, doing crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family and her dog, Felix.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. The rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Friends may also call one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Sullivan of St. Thomas officiating.

Cremation will follow the services with a burial at a later date at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
