Ann is survived by her loving husband of 40 years. Ann is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends, and she was preceded in death by her brothers Bob and Mike Snyder.
In accordance with her wishes, Ann will be buried following a graveside service at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2 p.m. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with arrangements.
Ann was the oldest of 12 children and grew up mostly in LaPorte, Indiana, in a large, old farmhouse. Ann's first paying job, at the age of 15, was housekeeping at one of the Catholic nuns' homes, for $1 an hour. Ann also loved to sing throughout her life. In her senior year at La Porte High School, she was in the musical "Good News" and later on in life sang with a local chapter of Sweet Adelines International.
Four years after her 1968 high school graduation, Ann lived a year in Iceland, with many fond memories. While in Iceland, Ann was introduced to the Baha'i Faith and quickly became a member. Through the decades, she was an active and devoted follower of Baha'u'llah and the three onenesses of the worldwide religion: the oneness of God, the oneness of religion and the oneness of humanity, with an emphasis on service to others.
After living in Southern California for nearly 20 years, Ann and her family moved to Elkhart, where she resided until her death. Nearly all of Ann's work history was in healthcare, including clerical work at both Holy Family Hospital in LaPorte and Elkhart General Hospital, from which she retired in 2014 after devoting more than 20 years.
Ann's other interests included reading (especially historical fiction), gardening, listening to music and being with family.
