IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela J.
Schoenborn
July 14, 1969 – January 24, 2025
Mrs. Angela June "Angie" Schoenborn, 55, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 7:55 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital following a sudden illness. Though her time here was far too short, Angie's life was one woven with love, resilience, and an unmistakable sparkle that lit up the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on July 14, 1969, in Elkhart, Angie was the beloved daughter of the late Robert D. Tolliver, Sr. and Myra June (Ragsdale) Tolliver Winters. She grew up with an unshakable spirit, a mischievous sense of humor, and a deep love for her family. Though life brought its share of loss—including her parents, her cherished son Shawn W. T. Bair, her sister Rhonda Renee Bowen and her brother Robert D. Tolliver, Jr.—Angie carried their memory forward with the same love and devotion she had always shown.
On June 3, 2001, Angie found her perfect match in Paul A. Schoenborn, whom she married in an intimate, sun-dappled ceremony at Bonneyville Mill near Bristol, Indiana. Together, they built a life filled with unwavering support and the kind of love that feels like home. Paul survives her, holding onto the countless memories they made side by side.
Angie's love extended far and wide, embracing her children: Bethany J. (Tyronn Dobie) Rust and Jessica Owings, both of Elkhart; Keesia Curtis of Mishawaka; and Shonda Kirk of Goshen; as well as her sons Danny (Hailii) Rust, II of Mishawaka, Paul Schoenborn of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Brevin Schoenborn of Elkhart. She also leaves behind brothers Lonnie Tolliver of Elkhart and Michael (Dee) and Bobby (Angela) Tolliver of Salem, Illinois; sisters Debbie (Marlin Prince) Tolliver, Roberta (Tony) Caudell, and Kimberly (Collin Sampers) Ragsdale, all of Elkhart; and an ever-growing number of adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Payton Rust, Haivyn Butcher, Sophia Rust, Anastasia Dover, and Jeremiah Rust.
Among Angie's most devoted companions was her ever-faithful, larger-than-life Rottweiler-Lab mix, Queenie, who never left her side and mirrored Angie's enthusiasm for the simple joys in life—whether it was a cozy afternoon or a deliciously prepared meal.
Though an injury led her to retire from the manufacturing sector earlier than planned, Angie never let that slow her down. She found endless ways to fill her days with creativity and connection, whether through online gaming, whipping up her legendary lasagna and sausage-and-potatoes, or immersing herself in the latest true crime stories. Her faith remained a steady anchor in her life, and she was proud to have been baptized at Elkhart's First Baptist Church.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place under the care of Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, and the family will gather to celebrate her life at a later date.
Though Angie's chair at the table will forever be empty, her presence, wisdom, and love remain in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call her family and friend. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
