Anderson "Junior" Kyle Jr., 77, of Union, passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes Monday morning, March 27, 2017.
He was born June 17, 1939, in Marion, Arkansas, to the late Anderson and Etter (Gamble) Kyle Sr.
He married Henrietta Jones in Bullhead City, Arizona, in 1993. She survives him at home.
Also surviving are sons Anderson (Anna) Kyle III and Julian (Lori) Jones, of Fishers and James E, Kyle of Dallas, Texas; daughters Patricia and Adell Kyle, Carlyn Johnson, Metral (Phillip) Austin and Carlor Carroll, all of Elkhart; sisters Lucy Porter and Evelyn Kyle of Elkhart and Erma Jean (Bobby) Fluker of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers Earnest Kyle of Elkhart, Bishop Isaac Kyle of Los Angeles, California, Edward "Buddy" Kyle of Phoenix, Arizona, Bennie(Elsie) Kyle of Fairmont, West Virginia and Walter (Sylvia) Kyle of Merrillville. Anderson has 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were both of his parents, one grandchild, Korey Kyle, two great-grandchildren and siblings Robert and Adell Kyle.
Anderson was a talented carpenter and woodworker who went on to work on construction sites as a contractor.
He was a hard worker and enjoyed keeping himself busy by working on projects around the house, gardening, hunting, fishing and helping others.
He was also a 32nd degree Mason at the King David Lodge.
Services will be at noon Saturday, April 1, with visitation starting at 11 a.m. at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 228 Chapman Ave., Elkhart.
The Rev. LaFate Owen will officiate and burial will follow in Rice Cemetery.
Billings Funeral home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with the arrangements.
