Amy was an intelligent woman who loved to give back to her community. She obtained her Bachelors degree of Science in Pharmacy from Ferris State University and her Masters degree of Science in Pharmacy at University of Wisconsin. Shortly after, Amy worked as a research pharmacist group leader in product development for Miles Labs for 24 years. She had a hand in creating Bactine and Alka-Seltzer.

Amy had a big heart and loved children and animals. She volunteered at LoveWay to help disabled children with Therapeutic Horseback Riding and acted as their volunteer coordinator for many years. She often took her dogs to Greenleaf Living Center to provide pet therapy for the residents.  The Humane Society was a big part of the later part of Amy's life where she loved volunteering as a "cat socializer". She was a member of the New Horizons Band of Elkhart, where she played the clarinet and later percussion.  Amy also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Special Olympics, Riverview Elementary and The Southeastern Guide Dog School of  Florida.   Amy enjoyed traveling around the world with her mother and visited 18 countries and all 50 states.   Amy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
