Amber R. Wiley, 31, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Elkhart on September 16, 1989 to Herman and Charisse Wiley who survive at home.

Amber is also survived by her son, Tinell Stephens Jr.; daughter, Amari Giles; brother, Brandon (Caitlyn) Wiley; sister-in-law, Missy; nephews, Brandon Wiley Jr. and Caden Wiley; aunt, Shirley Thompson; grandmother, Lucille House; and cousins, Nickey Murray, Alice Waters, and Mark Waters. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Hazel Baskin.

Visitation will take place from 11-noon on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Canaan Baptist Church, 933 Fieldhouse Ave, Elkhart, IN 46517 with a service to follow at noon. A graveside service will immediately follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, 301 W Hively Ave, Elkhart, IN 46516.

Amber was an intelligent woman with a heart of gold. She worked as an educator in the Head Start program for Elkhart Community schools for many years where she enjoyed working with children. She also sold Avon products in her spare time. Amber had never met a stranger and could light up a room with her smile. She was a loving mother to her two children and taught them how to be giving and compassionate. People who knew Amber would describe her as fiercely unique with a style all her own, especially with her signature Jordan's. Amber will be missed greatly by her loving family and many friends.
