Alvin Ralph Eggers, 71, of Elkhart, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2:50 p.m. at Elkhart General Hospital.  Alvin was born on January 28, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late William and Felicia (Kaminiski) Eggers. Alvin is survived by his two sons, William R. "Bill" Eggers, and Robert RJ (Elizabeth) Eggers, and his grandson Ronin Eggers, all of St. Louis. also, a sister Kathy Eggers survives as well.

Alvin worked for many years for the City of St. Louis as a land surveyor. He also worked for a time as an inspector in an oil refinery and coal mine. He proudly served in the U.S Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1973. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

In honoring his wishes, cremation was chosen, He will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, where condolences may be made on-line to his family at www.billingsfuneralhome.com
