UNION, Mich. — Alvin L. Boyer, 74, of Union, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at the home of his son, Dion.
He was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Union to Edson and Ruth (Detwiler) Boyer. He married Arlene M. Dolph, who passed away on Oct. 24, 2011.
Surviving are a daughter, Karmen (Paul) Lightfoot; sons Dean, Dan and Dion (Taya) Boyer; several grandchildren; mother Ruth Boyer; brother Edward (Marilyn) Boyer; and sisters Deb Durinski and Bea Howie.
His wife, Arlene, and father, Edson, preceded him in death.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Vandalia Lodge 290, 15598 U.S. 12, Union.
Alvin was a life-long farmer and was the former owner of the John Deer dealership on U.S. 12 in Union.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart, Ind.
