ELKHART — Almon J. Walls, 82, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, April 25, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1932, in White Pigeon, Mich., to Alfred Walls Sr. and Hazel (Oldenburg) Walls.
On Feb. 28, 1970, he married Nancy J. (Reichard) Walls. She survives at home.
Other survivors include two sons, Mark (Michelle) Walls and Tom (Melissa) Walls, both of Elkhart; four daughters, Lana (Harry) Rudloff of White Pigeon, Lisa (James) Earl of Elkhart, Lori (Joe) Stoffer of Delray Beach, Fla., and Tammy (Tim) Echols of Syracuse; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1955.
Almon was employed in the RV/mobile home industry for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1995 he was employed at Cobra RV Industries in Goshen.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 599 and the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, and for an hour prior to the 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Burial with military rites will follow in Rice Cemetery.
