Ms. Almarie "Marie" White, 81, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart following an extended illness on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 7:00 am. She was born on September 6, 1939 in Cairo, IL and was the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha C. (Sanders) Houston.

Surviving are her children Angela, Debbie, Patty and Kenneth White, Jr, all of Elkhart, Darlene (John) Duty, also of Elkhart, and Lisa White of Terre Haute; many brothers and sisters including Katherine Houston of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren, dozens of great-grandchildren and a host of Kingdom Hall friends and acquaintances. Preceding her in death is her husband Kenneth White, Sr., a son Anthony White, granddaughter Cassandra Douglas and former son-in-law William A. Douglas.

Marie's life will be celebrated with a memorial service on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 6:00 pm at the North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1921 Jeanwood Drive, Elkhart, where Elder Bob Blue will officiate. These services will also be streamed live on Zoom. Please note that the Zoom address ID for the service is 84243246587 and the password is 715640.  In accordance with Marie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.

Marie absolutely loved being a grandmother and was supportive of all of her grandchildren and family. A simple lady with simple values, Marie was always there to be the backbone of support for those she loved. She was also a devout member of the North Kingdom Hall and enjoyed attending the meetings there. Marie had always joked that her work was never done, yet now she can rest in the name of Jehovah.
