MIDDLEBURY — Allan L. Harrington, 72, of Middlebury, passed away Wednesday, July 20, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 3, 1944, in Plymouth, to Robert L. and Ruby L. (Harbaugh) Harrington.
On April 1, 1982, he married his wife, Melody A. Myers of Middlebury.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include one son, Warran "Lance" Dawson of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Kimberly (Clint) Snedeker of Clearwater, Fla., and Venus Harrington of Gaston; four brothers, Bobby (Sandy) Harrington of Mishawaka, Terry Harrington of Mishawaka, John Harrington of Derider, La., and Dick Harrington of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Allan served more than 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps retiring with the rank of master sergeant after serving in the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Elkhart DAV 19, Bristol American Legion Post 143 and the Elkhart VFW Post 88.
Visitation will one hour prior to the 3 p.m. memorial service Saturday, July 23, at the Elkhart VFW Post 88, 1519 W. Bristol St., Elkhart, IN 46514. Chaplain Tom Black will officiate. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkhart VFW Post 88 in memory of Allan.
