Obituary
ELKHART — Alice M. Palmer, 79, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, March 28, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 10, 1935, in Chesapeake, W.Va., to Roy G. and Grace M. (Blake) Adkins.
Survivors include one son, James Roy Palmer Jr. of Bluffton; one sister, Carolyn Gibson of Elkhart; three brothers, Paul (Annette) Adkins of Chicopee Falls, Mass., and David Adkins and Joseph Adkins, both of Elkhart; and one granddaughter, Megan Palmer of Moundsville, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Palmer Sr.; six brothers; and one sister.
Alice worked as a loving homemaker for several years prior to her retirement. She was affectionately known by her family as "Hoot Owl."
Cremation will take place at Altera Cremation Services. A memorial service will be at a later date.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Elkhart County in memory of Alice.
