ELKHART — Alice A. Holder, 75, of Elkhart and Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart, with her family at her side. Alice was born on March 31, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Bonifacio and Senona (Sauceda) Nunez. It was there she met and married Donald R. Holder on March 10, 1962. They moved to Southern Indiana shortly after, then to Elkhart. Surviving is her husband of 56 years Donald R. Holder, children, Dora (KC) Johnson, Donna (Bain) Martsolf and Donald R. Holder Jr.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Angie, Gloria, and Ricarda and many nieces and nephews survive her as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Juan "Johnny", Pedro "Pete", Clemente Nunez and 3 sisters Stella, Lucia and Lupe.

Alice was a loving child care provider and babysitter for 29 years, retiring in 2001, She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Punta Gorda, Fla. Alice was raised Catholic but has attended the Assembly of God Church with Don for many years. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, traveling with Don and listening to music.

Friends and relatives may call from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, May 8, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Funeral services celebrating Alice's life will begin at Noon Wednesday, May 9, also at the funeral home, with additional visitation 1 hour prior.  Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
