Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, and one hour prior to Thursday's 10 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Marjorie Mason Braden, spiritual care counselor with The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, will officiate. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
She was born June 8, 1928, in Ligonier to Charles and Opal Sapen. She married William Eaton in 1949; they later divorced.
Ms. Eaton is survived by three sons, Jimmy McDaniels, Ralph Van Eaton and Michael (Barbara) Eaton, all of Elkhart; one daughter, Vicky (Douglas) Reafsnyder of Molalla, Ore.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Pam Kruise of Elkhart; and her former husband, William (Helen) Eaton of Osceola.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Klitz; three brothers; and four sisters.
Ms. Eaton was a homemaker and member of Elkhart Moose Lodge 599. She enjoyed bowling, doing embroidery, dancing and collecting Avon bottles. She also enjoyed picnics with her family.
