Alice was a Dalton, GA girl at heart. It is said you can take the girl out of Dalton but you could never take Dalton and its memories out of the girl. She graduated from Dalton High School in Georgia where she played in the school band. Alice later went on to work as a nurse's aid in Georgia prior to marrying the love of her life, Gene Sutton. Soon after the couple were married, they moved to the Elkhart area where Alice worked at Elkhart Products for 12 years and then Dec-O-Art Printing, where she eventually retired from after 10 years of service.
In her spare time, Alice would enjoy the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed cooking southern style food, particularly her famous biscuits and gravy. She was an avid reader and gardener, taking special interest in her beloved yellow roses. She was also a people person by nature, being a "social butterfly" and enjoying the time she got to spend with people that she loved, especially her grandchildren as she loved being their Nana. She also took multiple trips to Tennessee to be at family reunions along with going down to Florida for the winter while visiting family and many friends along the way.
Alice, along with her love and kindness, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she has touched throughout her life.
