IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alexander "Alex"
Miguel Villalobos
July 20, 1999 – October 26, 2022
Mr. Alexander M. "Alex" Villalobos, of Elkhart, passed away following a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 9:19 am along US Hwy. 12 near Edwardsburg, Michigan. He was 23 years old.
Alex was born in Elkhart on July 20, 1999 to Kelli (Hall) Lemus, who currently survives him in Elkhart along with his loving step-father, Pascual Lemus, whom Alex had been calling "Dad" since he was very young and even before Pascual eventually married Kelli. Also surviving are his sisters Breyana and Gabriela Lemus, Alivia Hall and Jillian Morales, all of Elkhart; Tiffany Lemus of Lafayette, and Emma Bryant of Goshen; brothers Adrian Salinas and Pascual Junior Lemus, both of Elkhart; grandparents Lori (Jeffrey) Sanders and great grandmother Betty Hall, all of Elkhart. He is also survived by a loving host of extended family including uncles Josh Sanders and Kenny, Matt and Jeff Hall; a cousin Tom Watts; his best friend and partner-in-crime Jarod Murray and a large network of good friends and pals. Alex also jokingly considered his mom's former roommate Destiny (Chris) Burdette as his "dad" as well, and everyone laughed that Alex always said that he had two dads growing up. Preceding Alex in death are two cousins, Dylan Miller and Jake Watts, whom Alex respected and looked up to, and his "PaPa", great grandfather Harold Hall, whom Alex held with great regard.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will host Alex's homegoing services on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 beginning with a gathering of friends and family from 3 pm to 4 pm followed by his life celebration that starts at 4:00 pm. The Reverend Mike Quirey, pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Bristol will officiate and cremation will follow services.
The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks about Alex is the fact that he had a sense of humor that really endeared him to people. Despite the fact that he may have just pranked you, you would just somehow feel attracted to his snarky personality that fell somewhere between Chris Farley and David Spade. Big, loveable and just plain sweet, Alex had no problem working his way into your heart, no matter how bad you may have thought you'd been feeling! He had the best laugh; one that was full of life and very contagious, and that little streak of rebellion that Alex possessed made him truly one-of-a-kind.
Others saw Alex as a "big brother" or "protector", as he was a fierce defender of those he considered family and friends. He had a special relationship with his grandma Lori and he loved to hang out with her whenever he could. In fact, when he was a kid, Alex would make up stories to create an excuse to have to go to grandma's. ("there's this thing under the bed that's fixing to eat me, soooo….. I need to go to Grandma's…") He also loved his two year old baby brother Pascual Junior to the moon and back, and the two just seemed infatuated with each other.
He was a huge Denver Broncos fan, loved to play Madden NFL X-box games (where he played regularly online with a gamer ranked 3rd in the nation), loved to shoot pool and oh, god, did he love to eat. His family always joked that Alex always had some food or something stuck to his shirt. (His other nickname was "Chowder"……hmmm…) Of course, Alex would just laugh and go eat the rest of that cake you had stashed in the back of the refrigerator.
Alex spent most of his time as a house painter after high school, but never strayed far from his happy and charismatic outlook on life in general. He loved as he was loved, deep, meaningful and plentiful; and he will never leave the hearts of those whom knew and loved him.
