ELKHART — Albena K. "Bena" Bollero, 90, of Elkhart, passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 12, 2013, at Greenleaf Health Campus after a brief illness.
She was born May 15, 1923, in Elkhart to Joseph L. and Lucy (Renaldi) Manfredi.
She married the love of her life, Edward J. Bollero, on Oct. 15, 1949, in Elkhart. Edward passed away April 11, 2012. They are now celebrating 64 years of marriage in heaven.
Surviving are her daughters, Susan (Richard) Stack of Elkhart and Barbara (Paul) Simeri of Granger; sons Edward J. (Karen) Bollero of Bristol and Steven L. (Traci) Bollero of Elkhart; and her 13 loving grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, brothers Charles and Joseph Manfredi and her sister, Margaret Milanese, preceded her in death.
"Bena," as she was fondly called, was a loving homemaker, and formerly worked at Miles Laboratories. She was a 1941 graduate of Elkhart High School and a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church and the Rosary Society at church. She was also a member of Women's Catholic Society of Foresters and Elkhart General Hospital Auxiliary.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, with additional calling starting at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 411 W. Vistula St., Bristol. The Rev. Robert VanKempen will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.
