Obituary
BRISTOL -- Alan Randel Hess, 16, of Bristol, was fatally injured on Saturday, March 5, 2011, near his home after a hit-and-run automobile accident.
He was born Sept. 23, 1994, in Elkhart to Randel S. Hess and Davida Henderson.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, David Hess of Bristol; paternal grandmother Jann Hess of Elkhart; two uncles, Bob Hess and Don Hess, both of Oxford, Wis.; aunt Debra (Matt) Borror of Elkhart; and two cousins, Joey Hess of Dyer and Cade Borror of Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald L. Hess; maternal grandfather David J. Henderson; maternal grandmother Kathryn L. McCreary; and maternal great-grandparents Cecil D. and Lillian E. Henderson.
Alan was a sophomore at Elkhart Central High School. He enjoyed fishing with his cousins, camping, video games and playing with footbags (hacky sacks).
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Elkhart Central High School. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alan R. Hess Memorial Fund, which can be donated at any KeyBank location.
