ELKHART -- Ailene L. Woolwine, 78, of Elkhart, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009) in her home.

She was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Bland County, Va., to Roney and Sally (Morehead) Nunn. On March 15, 1952, she married Paul L. Woolwine in Bastin, Va.

He survives along with one son, Duane (Aretha) Woolwine of Elkhart; three daughters, Bonnie (Greg Winowiecki) Wogoman and Brenda (Doug) McDaniel, both of Elkhart, and Diane (Randy Lloyd) Hively of Niles, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd (Sue) Nunn of Bland County and Roy Nunn of Bluewell, W.Va., and James Nunn of Salem, Va.; and two sisters, Janie (Henry) Mitchell of Pulaski, Va., and Lorraine (Donald) Gibson of Bluewell.

He was preceded in death by two siblings, Ralph Nunn and Mary Shelton.

Mrs. Woolwine was a housewife and member of the Elkhart Church of God. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to Saturday's 11 a.m. funeral service all at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Shannon Bishop of Elkhart Church of God will officiate. Graveside services will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
