ELKHART -- Adeline Ruth Rose, 80, died Friday (March 5, 2010) at 8:15 p.m. at Riverside Village in Elkhart.

She was born Aug. 1, 1929, near Chicago to Albert and Minnie (Kroll) Weatherton. She married Johnnie T. Rose on July 23, 1955, in Fort Wayne. He died Dec. 20, 2009, in Elkhart.

She is survived by one son, Larry Miller and his wife Sharon, of Elkhart; two stepsons, Johnnie Dale Rose and his wife, Rita, of Arkansas, and Larry T. Rose and his wife, Barb, of Elkhart; four grandchildren, Rodney and his wife, Dawn, Shelly, Kelly and her husband, Larry, and Tracey; and several step-grandchildren.

Adeline was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Richie and Harry Weatherton; and two sisters, Carol Darling and Marian Rupe.

Visitation for Pauline will be private. Burial and a graveside service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rice Cemetery, 400 James St., Elkhart. Pastor Carl Henry of Northside Baptist Church will officiate. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is handling arrangements.

Adeline formerly worked in quality control at Gemeinhardt Co. in Elkhart and had attended Riverview General Baptist Church in Elkhart. She enjoyed sewing and making stuffed animals, but her true passion was ceramics. She had her own kiln and had made and painted hundreds of ceramics over the years.
