William Fletcher Life Story

William F. “Bill” Fletcher, 91, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital. Bill was born on December 19, 1926 in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. to Henry and Nellie (Stafford) Fletcher. Surviving is a son Michael Fletcher, daughter Cheryl L. (Jody) Weiler; 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; step-son, Jim Stump, step-daughter, Patty (R.D.) Miller and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren survive as well. In addition to his parents, two wives, Mildred I. Fletcher and Vida M. Fletcher and his son William C. “Bill” Fletcher, preceded him in death. Bill worked for CTS Corp, and then started his own environmental consulting firm Bill Fletcher & Associates. He formerly worked for Excel Corp. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1946. Bill was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge #599, American Legion, DAV Chapter #19 and was a 32 Degree Mason. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the Noon (12’o’clock) service for Bill on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Chaplain Andy Williams of DAV #19 will officiate.
