Virgie Coppler Life Story

Mrs. Virgie Colleen Coppler, 87, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart on Thursday, Apr. 18, 2019.

She was born in Elkhart on Apr. 26, 1931 to the late Lloyd and Maude (VanLieu) Staub. She later married Richard H. Coppler, Sr. in Elkhart in 1949. He precedes her in death as well.

Surviving is her son Rictor “Rick” (Catherine) Coppler; grandchildren Angela (Shaun) Loveless and Jason (Amber) Coppler; great grands Shyanne and Dominik Loveless and Justin and Nickolas Coppler and sister Joan Shriner. She is preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Shay and Sandra Kiener; brother Larry Staub and a son, Richard Coppler, Jr.

In accordance with her wished, Virgie will be cremated and laid to rest at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart are assisting the family with arrangements.

Virgie was a homemaker who enjoyed painting outdoor, nature and wildlife scenes with acrylic.
