ELKHART — Verda Lee Miller, 76, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home of natural causes at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018.
She was born Aug. 31, 1941, in LaGrange County, to the late Harry and Clara (Berkey) Weaver.
She was also preceded in death by her former spouse, Abram “A.J.” Miller, a son, Rick Miller, and a brother, Ronald Weaver.
Surviving are her son, Terry (Shelly) Miller; sister Miriam (Steve) Thompson; grandchildren Joshua (Angie), Jeremiah (Dammi) and Jacob (Brielle) Miller, Jessica (Milad) Tawfik and William (Mandy) Irizarry; nine great-grandchildren; and in-laws Dee Miller and Kim Weaver.
Friends and family of Verda may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
A memorial service will follow there at 11 a.m. officiated by her son, Terry.
A private family burial of her cremated remains will take place in Little Pine Cemetery at a later time.
Verda was a homemaker and a long-time in-house home health-care provider, a calling which she loved dearly.
She was a devout Christian woman who whole-heartedly believed in the power of prayer and will be best remembered for her generous heart and unconditional love for her family.
