Thomas W. “Tom” Stewart, 61, of Elkhart, passed away after a brief illness at Elkhart General Hospital on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Tom was born on May 12, 1957 in Charleston, West Virginia, a son of the late Thomas A. and Georgia L. (Daniels) Stewart.
He is survived by two sisters, Lynn A. Gonzalez, Michelle D. Coggain and a brother Michael S. (Susan) Stewart; 9 nieces and nephews; 2 great nieces, 2 great nephews, and two aunts Rita Sparkman and Gail Deeds survive as well.
A brother Alex Lee Stewart preceded Tom in Death.
Tom was a Swiss Lathe Machinist, working at Universal Precision Instrument, Inc. in Elkhart. He was a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was a music lover, Colts fan and avid animal lover. He served in the United States Navy.
Friends and family of Tom may gather from 4 to 6 pm Monday, April 8, at Billings Funeral Home, to share stories, memories and celebrate his life.
