Thomas McLaughlin Life Story
ELKHART — Thomas L. (Hillbilly Tom) McLaughlin, 71, of Elkhart, passed away at Memorial Hospital of South Bend Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Tom was born, June 6, 1946, to the late Grover and Thelma (Roberts) Mclaughlin.
He owned and operated Tom’s Tree Service, worked for LaBour Pumps for 23 years, and retired from working for the State of Indiana in 2000.
In his later years, he could always be found at either Callahan’s in Elkhart or the Bristol Cafe.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Sean (Missy) McLaughlin of Milford, Ohio, and Brian McLaughlin of Chicago; daughter Renee Row of Florida; sister Thelma Clarine; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Grover McLaughlin Jr.
Tom will be cremated, as was his wish.
Arrangements are in the care of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.
