Mr. Thomas M. “Tom” Harrison, 68, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully following an extended illness at Woodland Manor Healthcare Facility in Elkhart on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020 at 9:12 am. He was born Sept. 07, 1951 in Athens, AL to the late Cletis T. Harrison and Mary O. (McCurry) Harrison, who survives him. He later married Patty (Likes), who also precedes Tom in death.
Other survivors include brothers Terry M. (Janice), Dennis S. and John F. (Marcy) Harrison; sisters Bernice (Terry) Goorhouse, Patricia Wynn, Sally Bailey and Jeanette (Robert) Massing, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, cremation is to take place with the assistance of Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. He will then be returned to his Sweet Home Alabama courtesy of his family for burial there at a later date.
Tom was a boiler operator at Bock Industries in Elkhart for many years. He was an avid auto enthusiast who enjoyed mechanics and maintaining his beloved 1967 Camaro. He also enjoyed professional wrestling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a 1970 graduate of Jimtown High School.
