Mr. Stephen E. “Steve” Drudge, 67, passed away at his home in Elkhart of natural causes on Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2019.
He was born May 19, 1952 in Elkhart to the late John W. and Ruth (O’Connor) Drudge. Survivors include a son, Craig Drudge of South Bend and a sister, Denise K. (Danny) Hosler of Elkhart. He is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends, including his life-long best friend Roscoe Scheetz, with whom he even enlisted and served with in the United States Marine Corps.
In accordance with Steve’s wishes of privacy, no services have been planned. Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
Steve was a tool and die maker for many years, working at companies that included Reese Products and the Kent Company, both of Elkhart. His staunch work ethic kept him busy nearly all of the time. However, he did manage to find a bit of time to take a ride on his motorcycle and bowl with his friends in his earlier years. He also enjoyed traveling to Pennsylvania each year to deer hunt while his father was still alive. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa during the early 1970’s.
