LEBANON, Ohio — Shirley L. Sutton, 83, of Lebanon, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Elkhart, to the late Harvey Isaac and Etta (Henderschott) Carr.
She married Elmer B. Sutton on Sept. 24, 1955 and he died in 2003.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her sister, Barbara Kitch; two brothers, Merle J. and Vernon Carr; and one great-grandchild, Robert Jordan Sutton.
Surviving are her three children, Rick (Judy) Sutton of Elkhart, James (Marie) Sutton of Lebanon, Ohio, and Lorie (Kevin) Garthus of Granger; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rosalie Crume of El Campo, Texas.
Shirley attended Jimtown High School.
She also worked at Nickell Moulding as a machine operator for 13 years, before retiring in 1988.
In her spare time, she enjoyed line dancing, going to the spa, working out, and reading health books.
She also enjoyed shopping and spending quality time with her family.
A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
Per her wishes, cremation will follow with burial at a later date in Salem Cemetery, Granger.
