GRANGER — Sharon Lee Chaney, 83, of Granger, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart following an extended illness at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, May, 26, 2018.
She was born May 10, 1935, in Elkhart, to the late Robert and Juanita (Dodge) Sixbey, and leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Dale H. Chaney, whom she married Feb. 3, 1962.
Also surviving are her children, Debra Pietrzak, Deena (Brent) Parson, Denise (Jan) Konecny, Donna Franzone, David Chaney and Dawn Hapner; as well as 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by daughters Dianna Struch and Kathy Sherrill.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation is to take place and a gathering of friends and family will take place at the Chapel of the Foxwood Hills Campgrounds, 1120 W. 450 N., Middlebury, at noon Saturday, June 2.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Sharon retired from Glavel Van Conversions in the late 1990s and enjoyed attending auctions and garage sales, as well as spending time with her family and those she loved, especially her beloved pets Kittykitty, Gizmo and Terry.
Memorial donations may go to the Center for Hospice Care.
