ELKHART: Roy Gene Malcom, 76, passed to his rest Saturday morning, March 9, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital. Roy was born on March 11, 1942 in Salem, Kentucky to the late Raymond and Imogene (Guess) Malcom. He married the love of his life Joyce Ann Brown on November 18, 1961 in Elkhart.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Joyce A.; two sons, Brian (Terri) Malcom, Scott (Kim) Malcom; five loving grandchildren, Cory, Brandon, Amanda, Tia, Kiara; five great grandchildren, Reagan, Avary, Blake, Elania, Davis and Declan; brothers, George (Roseann) Malcom, Roger Malcom, Garry Malcom and Ricky (Carolyn) Malcom and sister Janice (Nate) Books.
Roy was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Malcom and brothers James and Kenny Malcom.
Roy worked very hard his whole life in the R. V. Industry, mainly as a metal man. Roy loved to garden, hunt, fish and enjoyed sitting and watching the birds at his feeders. He was a great cook and known for his ribs, ham, beans, cornbread and blackberry pies.
Services for Roy will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church, 59218 CR 3 South, Elkhart, beginning at 4:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Steve Loft of Jamestown UMC will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive East Cemetery. The family kindly request memorials to the Arthritis Foundation, 615 N.
