Rose Marie Moore, 77, residing in Elkhart, passed away Friday, March 22, at her home, surrounded by love and family. Rose was born on June 9, 1941 in Charleston, W.Va. to Ben and Rhoda E. “Rose” (Crisp) Davis. Surviving are her children Kim (Mark) Clere, Robert Gunnoe; Rosemary Gresso; 8 loving grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and her sister Sally Flowers.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Moore, grandson Jamie Gresso; 2 sisters Mary Burgess, Clare Adkins; and five brothers, Frank, Vernon, Charles, Bernard and Joseph Davis.
Rose worked at Arby’s on Cassopolis Street for 6 years, becoming much loved as everyone’s grandmother. She formerly worked in the housekeeping department at Elkhart General Hospital for 13 years. Rose loved her family and spoiling her grandkids, she was a very humble and loving person. She will also be missed by her faithful fur baby Barney.
Friends may visit with Rose’s family from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Services celebrating Rose as a wonderful mom, grandma, great grandma and friend to many will begin at Noon Tuesday, March 26, with additional visitation 1 hour prior. Pastor Ray Caudill will officiate. In honoring her wishes, cremation will follow.
