ELKHART — Rose Marie (Osowski) Doland, 88, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Chicago, to the late Bruno and Harriet (Gobczynski) Osowski.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Amos B. Doland, and four brothers, Edward, Arthur, Roman and Richard Osowski, and a sister, Bernice Butler, preceded Rose in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Tracey Doland; son Rick (Marcia) Doland; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose retired in 1993, after 39 years of service at CTS Corp.
She bowled for many years on the CTS and St. Thomas church leagues, where she won many trophies; she was also a member of the CTS Quarter Century Club, United Auto Workers and was a former UAW union steward.
Rose was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and a former member of the Elkhart Women of the Moose.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards, watching Western TV shows and movies.
She played piano and organ by ear, being taught by her brother-in-law to memorize each key’s sound, and as a result could duplicate songs from the radio.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
The evening will conclude with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart, with visitation one hour prior to Mass.
The Rev. Jason Freiburger will officiate.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
