Robert Earl "Bob" BeMiller

ELKHART  — Mr. Robert E. “Bob” BeMiller, 90, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Valley View Healthcare Center in Elkhart on Saturday, Mar. 31, 2018 at 6:37 am.

He was born Jan. 3, 1928 in Elkhart County to the late Morris and Blanche (Canen) BeMiller. On Sept. 4, 1948, he married Mary Alice Stephic at Indian Village. She preceded him in death in 1994.

Surviving is a daughter, Cathy Bloss; his brother Delbert (Maxine) BeMiller; sister Lainata (Dean) Schieber; grandchildren Kevin (Valerie) Lowell, Robert (Leslie) Bloss and Rebecca (Mike) Schaefer, and great grandchildren Devin and Danielle Lowell, Trinity Bloss and Bennett Schaefer. Also preceding him in death is a son, Rick BeMiller, and a son-in-law, Glenn Bloss.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart will host Bob’s celebration of life services beginning with a viewing on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 5-8 pm followed by a service Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 am with visitation beginning at 9 am. Pastor Jacob LaBounty of Zion Missionary Church of Elkhart will officiate and burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Elkhart.

Bob worked at Adams & Westlake, Ltd. Of Elkhart for over 30 years, retiring in the late 1980’s. Not content with retirement, he continued to work at R.E. Jackson for several more years. He attended Zion Missionary Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, as well as riding his three-wheeled bicycle around his neighborhood. His outgoing and friendly personality made him very approachable, and he and his friends of similar character would regularly gather at the Cock-a-Doodle Café for breakfast and to catch up on everyone’s latest adventures. Bob will be best remembered for his commitment to help others whenever he could.

Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, The AIDS Foundation or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
