ELKHART — Paul Eugene Angel, 74, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at North Woods Village at Edison Lakes, Mishawaka, of complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
A native of Elkhart, Paul was born April 26, 1943, the son of Marshall Q. and Grace Mildred (Plank) Angel.
Paul is survived by his three sons, Thomas (Darlene) Angel, Jeffrey (Tina) Angel and Steven Angel, all of Elkhart; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and his siblings, Jerry (Sharon) Angel, Nancy Weaver, James “Jim” (Gerry) Angel, all of Elkhart and Dorothy Hire of Benton.
Also surviving are his girlfriend, Kathy Shultz of Elkhart and former wife, Pat (Roger) Thompson of Elkhart.
Paul was a 1961 graduate of Concord High School.
He was a proud independent truck driver for many years. His CB radio handle was “Caterpillar.”
Paul was co-founder with his son Thomas of Angel Automotive Inc., for 25 years.
Paul served on the Concord Township Advisory Board for many years.
He liked to tinker on cars and plow snow in the winter.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Paul touched are invited to gather at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart, from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course, just chat. In honoring Paul’s wishes, cremation was chosen.
His family kindly request, in lieu of sending flowers, memorials be given in his name to Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49202. Envelopes will be available at Billings.
