Nina G. Heminger

Nina G. Heminger, 87, of Elkhart, passed away on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Elkhart Place Assisted Living to be with her beloved husband, James K. “Jim” Heminger. She was born on October 23, 1931 in LaGrange, IN to the late Earl and Gladys (Rogers) Swihart.

She married Jim Heminger on October 20, 1951 and spent 67 wonderful years together. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Elonich and grandson Conner Elonich. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Doris Hauenstien and Eloise Sanford, and brothers, Dale, Walter, and Roger Swihart.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, Cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Elkhart.

Nina retired after working for 38 years as a clerical for Elkhart County Abstract. She was a very devote Christian and had been involved in a woman’s group at her church known as the Jamestown Untied Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading and often reminisced about the 40 year she had spent at the lake house in LaGrange making fond family memories with her family. She will be greatly missed by many.
