Michelle R. Hines

ELKHART — 

Ms. Michelle R. (O’Neil) Hines, 42, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

            She was born Jan. 9, 1975 in Elkhart to David and Carol (Hoover) O’Neil, who survive her in Elkhart.

            Also surviving is her son Ian M. Hines; her sister Amy (Kevin) Wolschlager; maternal grandmother Ruth Hoover, nieces Abby and Riley Wolschlager and her cats Maggie Mae and Callie Cat; all are of Elkhart.

            Pastor Robert Schallhorn and the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church, 30888 County Road 6, Elkhart, are honored to host Michelle’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 10 am. Burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with cremation arrangements.        

            After graduating from Memorial in 1993, Michelle received a degree in music education from Ball State University. She taught in Goshen’s “Head Start” program and taught viola, violin and piano at Lerner Premier Arts. She was also a Delta Delta Delta (Tri-Delt) Sorority member, member of Trinity Lutheran Church and her expertise in and affinity for music allowed her to become involved with Trinity’s Worship Team.

In lieu of flowers, the family had requested that memorial donations be given to any Teacher’s Credit Union (TCU) to assist with a scholarship fund for Ian, or to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
