Mary Ann Carroll died peacefully Monday evening at 7:00 pm in her home at Eastlake Terrace, Elkhart Indiana.
She is survived by four sons, Marcus, John, Richard and Michael, nephews Robert and William, niece Mary Ann, eight grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her sister-in law, Katie Stout.
Born in Boston, August 4th 1926, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Richard B. Stout and sister of the late Richard W. Stout of Elkhart, Indiana.
She was a graduate of the University of Illinois, graduating magna cum laude in fine arts and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was avid in drawing, painting, theatre arts, acting, dance, costume design, television set design and worked with the Film Studios of Chicago early in her career.
She was fascinated with intercultural communication and for many years was employed at Ranko International in Manhattan, NY; a US based Japanese business newspaper, where she was the Coordinating Director of US Japanese trade and public relations.
She was a trustee at the Unitarian Church in Manhattan, NY and an active member of the National Association of Professional Women prior to her retirement.
The viewing will be held on Friday afternoon between 4:00pm and 6:00pm at the Billings Funeral Home at 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart.

A reception and service will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00am at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart, 1732 Garden Street, Elkhart, IN, 46514
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family and the family will greet friends at the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
