Marjorie E. “Marge” Kirkdorffer, 93, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of an extended illness into the arms of her Lord while surrounded by her family at Elkhart General Hospital at 4:07 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 31, 2018.
She was born March 8, 1924, in Nappanee, to the late Bruce and Mary (Fox) Rogers and went on to marry the late Junior Kirkdorffer on Nov. 11, 1943 in Nappanee.
Surviving are children Gary (Rosemary) Kirkdorffer and Carol Wagner; siblings Mary Matthews and Loyal Rogers; grandchildren Stephanie (Scott) McElravy and Dawn (Brian) Sibley; and great-grandchildren Daniel, David, Joe, Ryan, Mercedes and Elise.
Siblings Bruce, Carlyle, Arlene and Charles Rogers and Dorothy Watkins preceded her in death.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart will be hosting Marge’s life celebration on Sunday, Feb. 4, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the 3 p.m. funeral.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will then take place and burial in Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee will follow at a later date.
Marjorie was a homemaker who loved to spend her time with her family.
She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and enjoyed watching the birds that came to visit.
She also liked to visit her friends down at the YWCA Senior Center, crocheting and visiting family in Florida and Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be given in her memory to the Creekside Brethren Church, 60455 C.R. 113, Elkhart, IN 45617.
