Marilyn Marie Sanders

ELKHART – Marilyn Marie Sanders, 77, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, 2018 at Elkhart General Hospital, after complications from a lifelong struggle with diabetes.

Marilyn was born on July 25, 1940 in Goshen to Mark B. and Pearl (Evans) Schrock.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James F. Sanders; son Eric Grant; grandson Aaron Grant; three step-children, Linda (Carl) Wiesinger, Pam Withrow and Michael Sanders; six step-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren and her sister Charlotte Schrock.

In addition to her parents, Mark and Pearl, her son Brian Charles Grant preceded her in death in a tragic car accident.

Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Goshen High School.

Even with her health declining the past two years from diabetes, she never let that slow her down as she had a long career as a secretary, office manager and accounting clerk. She formerly worked at LaBour Pump Co., Peachtree Door Company, Midland Ross, Yoder Oil Co., and Penske Trucking Co., where she retired in 2001.

Marilyn had a love for her family and friends, and enjoyed many hours gardening.

A gathering to celebrate the life of Marilyn M. Sanders will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart.
