Marilyn Lee Nagy, 88, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of South Bend and Elkhart, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Gilpin Hall Healthcare Facility in Wilmington, DE. She was born July 25, 1929, in Chicago, IL, to David Herbert and Bernice (Moosnick) Bernstein. On August 25, 1951, Marilyn married the love of her life, Charles E. Nagy. He preceded her in death, passing on May 9, 2007. She is survived by her children, son David J. (Cathy) Nagy of Wilmington, DE, and daughter Stacia R. Nagy of Granger; a cousin, Linda (Scott) Lange of Cincinnati, OH, and a brother-in-law, Frank Nagy, of Winter Park, FL.
Marilyn was a 1946 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend and attended Indiana University. She worked as a merchandiser for American Greeting Cards and also as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business. An avid Notre Dame fan, Marilyn enjoyed anything involving the University, especially ND Football. She loved all animals, great and small, rescuing many four-legged friends over the years.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Pastor Vickie Van Nevel will officiate. A memorial service for Marilyn will be held at a later date to be determined. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America or Here Kitty Kitty Rescue in Elkhart.
