EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — LuVelle “Sissy” Greer, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, at The Timbers of Cass Co., surrounded by her loving family. Sissy as she was known to her family and friends was born on March 3, 1934 in Piqua, Ohio to Ralph J. and Esther (Hoewischer) Monroe. On February 20, 1954, she married Walter W. “John” Greer in St. Mary’s Ohio. Surviving is her husband of 63 years, John Greer, two daughters, Tonja (Rob) Roy, Troya (Tim) Miller; one son, Tracy (Valerie); 5 grandchildren, Brock (Jacque) Greer, Dylan Greer, Skye Roy, Larissa Roy, Tyler Miller and 3 great grandchildren, Ryan, Zach and Xander; also surviving is a brother Charles Monroe and sister-in-law Betty Monroe. In addition to her parents, a brother William Lee “Bill” Monroe preceded her in death. Sissy formerly worked at Goodyear Tire Co. in St. Mary’s Ohio. She also worked for her husband as a secretary at O & L Realty and also did home health care for a number of years. Sissy was always putting others needs before her own. She loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing bingo at the Elkhart Moose Lodge. A celebration of life service for Sissy will begin at 7:00 pm., with visitation from 5-7 pm. on Sunday, February 18, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. If so desired, memorials are requested to Cass Co. Animal Control.
