Larry L Elliott

ELKHART – Larry Lee Elliott, 81, of Elkhart was found at his home on the morning of May 4, 2018.

Larry was born April 6, 1937 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Fred and Helen (Deland) Elliott.

He proudly served 4 years in the in the US Marine Corps. He loved dogs all his life and would often bring home rescue dogs, much to the chagrin of his wife and family. While living in California, he donated his time to the Burbank Humane Society and walked dogs for several celebrities. Whenever he found the time, he also loved treasure hunting in the mountains of California with his metal detector. He continued to train and rescue dogs well into his retirement years. He was also a lifelong Chicago Bears fan.

Larry is survived by his son, David (Kelley) Elliott; Daughters, Mary (Martin) Kampars and Michaelyn (Jon) Gordon; Grandchildren, Ashley (Phillip) Roebock, Tyler Elliott, Matthew (Brooke) Kampars, Joshua (Camille) Belle, Justin (Amy) Belle, Phillip Elliott, Jeanne Elliott, Lauren Elliott and Marilyn Elliott; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents; children, Bradley Elliott and Jeanne Elliott; and sisters, Jet Fites, and Lori Elliott

The staff of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart are honored to host funeral service on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11am, with a visitation starting at 10am and a graveside service following the funeral.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
