Kim Yoder Life Story

ELKHART: Kim E. Yoder, 65, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home. A native of Elkhart, he was born June 13, 1953 to the late Ken and Susie (Tryon) Yoder.

He is survived by his two sons, Dustin (Elsie) Miller and Kris (Sarah) Yoder; 6 grandchildren, Lauren, Katelyn and Logan Miller; and Konner, Eva and Amelia Yoder; and his brother Kessler (Lisa) Yoder.

Kim was raised in Bristol and enlisted in 1972 in the U.S. Navy serving with Helmineron 12, a Navy helicopter unit tasked with clearing mines in waterways around the world, especially in North Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1976. He moved to Indianapolis and worked in graphic arts as a pre-press manager for years, a career which took him to North Carolina, Bloomington, IN and back to Indy again. He moved back to Elkhart to be closer to family, drove a truck for several years, and due to health reasons retired in 2013. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and loved miniature dachshunds.  He will be greatly missed by his fur baby Halee.
