John W. “Jack” Devlin, Jr., 83, of Edwardsburg, MI, passed away peacefully of natural causes at the Hearth at Juday Creek in Granger on Monday, Mar. 4, 2019.
He was born in Oak Park, IL on Jan. 26, 1936 to the late John and Fernel (Lavan) Devlin, Sr., and married Dian M. Jones on Jan. 5, 1957 in Nappanee. She passed away in 2014 after 57 years together.
Surviving are children Jeanne (Chester) Chaney and Laura Bywaters; a sister Patricia Graham; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
A son, John E. Devlin; siblings Gerald Devlin and Judith Kuhn and grandchildren Meghan M. and Samuel “Tony” Manino, Jr. precede Jack in death.
Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services are assisting the family with services scheduled for Monday, Mar. 11, 2019 at Smith Chapel and Cemetery, 29858 Redfield Road, Niles, MI 49120. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1 pm. Pastor Dustin Wine of Crossroads Community Church will officiate and burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
Jack was a production supervisor for Miles Laboratories and later Bayer for over 32 years. He enjoyed listening classical and jazz music, gardening and fishing. He was also a US Navy veteran stationed in Guam during the Korean War.
