Jennifer T. Huskey

Mrs. Jennifer Traci Huskey, 46, of Elkhart, went home peacefully but unexpectedly to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at 5:00 am.  She was born August 21, 1973 in Elkhart to the late Philip Overholser and Deb (Johnson) Wise, who survives her. She later married Richard L. “Rick” Huskey in Elkhart on May 16, 1997.  He survives at home after 23 wonderful years together.

Other survivors include children Alex J. (Heidi) Huskey, Katherine E. (Blake Layman) Huskey and Emily M. Huskey; brother Shawn (Vicki) Overholser; granddaughters Hadlee A. Layman and Avery E. Schmerber, and a host of loving extended family, friends, employees and co-workers, including her favorite “adopted” daughter Brook A. Marker. Her step-father Ronald Wise precedes her in death.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart will host a memorial celebration of Jennifer’s life on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 7:00 pm, with visitation beginning at 5 pm. Pastor Nathan “Nate” Breneman of the Northside Baptist Church of Elkhart will officiate the services and cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes.

Jennifer was production manager for plant 129 at Patrick Industries in Mishawaka for over 16 years, where she was loved and admired by her co-workers and employees. She was also a former member of the Northside Baptist Church. Fun loving, happy and always smiling, Jennifer loved bingo, going to garage sales, kayaking, camping, going on a date night to the movies with Rick and spending time with her family and grandbabies.
