ELKHART — James A. “Jimbo” Meehan Jr., 66, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1952, in Mishawaka, to the late James A. and Ruth (McGowan) Meehan.
He married Terri J. Bess Lamie on Oct. 18, 2002. She survives.
Also surviving are children Adam (Jamie) and Ryan (Aiko) Meehan, James (Darcy), Jackie and Bobbie Bess and Wendy (Mike) Prater; brother Danny (Pamela) Meehan, sister Dawn (Mike) Lowry; and 19 grandchildren.
A brother, Neil (Vicki) Meehan, preceded him in death.
Jimbo retired from AM General after 30 years there.
Jimbo’s life will be celebrated from 4 - 6 p.m.Thursday, Nov. 1, at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart, where a service will follow at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
Pastor Matt Poorman will officiate.
Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Elkhart.
Memorial donations may be given to the Mishawaka VFW Post 360.
