Jack H. Myers

ELKHART — Jack H. Myers, 86, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in his home. 

He was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Montpelier, to the late George and Elizabeth N. (Henderson) Myers. 

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955. 

Jack was a former vocational adviser and school teacher. 

Jack walked everywhere and loved to be around people. 

He had many friends he met with at Cappy’s Northside Tavern, Hardy’s Bar and New Paradigm Brewing Co., where they would talk about current events, but mostly watch sports and especially the Chicago Cubs on TV. He was so happy when they won the World Series. 

He has many friends and distant cousins, but is survived by close friends, Bobbi and Allen Johnson, who looked after him. 

Billings Funeral Home is handling the cremation arrangements for Jack. 

He will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery.
